CRM
Customer relationship management: the system and practice of recording a company's customers, contacts, opportunities and interactions.
What it holds
Companies, the contacts at each one, the opportunities (deals) in progress with their stage and value, and the history: visits, calls, notes, tasks. Used well, it's the team's shared memory of every account.
CRM vs ERP
The CRM is about the relationship and the future — who you're talking to and what might close. The ERP is about transactions and the past — what was invoiced and paid. The most useful picture of a client combines both.
Why field teams struggle with it
A CRM is only as good as its updates, and updates mean forms on a phone between visits. So notes get written late, from memory, or not at all. See why the CRM fails in the car.
Where emily fits
emily includes a CRM you update by talking: a visit recap on WhatsApp becomes a note on the right deal, a business card photo becomes a contact. If you already use another CRM, it can be connected instead. See voice CRM and traditional CRM vs voice CRM.
