Agentic AI
AI systems that don't just answer but take steps toward a goal — looking things up, drafting, scheduling — usually within limits set by people.
From answers to actions
A chatbot answers a question. An agentic system works toward an outcome: to prepare for a visit it looks up the balance, checks recent orders, reads the last notes and puts it together; to follow up, it drafts the email and proposes a time for the next meeting.
The risk that comes with it
The more an AI can do, the more it matters what it's allowed to do on its own. An agent that sends emails, places orders or changes records without a check is fast right up until it's wrong. The answer is clear limits: which tools it can use, what data it can see, and which actions need a person's approval — see human in the loop.
Examples in sales
- Flagging overdue debt before anyone asks.
- Turning a voice recap into a CRM note and a reminder.
- Running a weekly report on schedule and delivering it to WhatsApp.
