Booking, moving and cancelling meetings

emily creates, moves and cancels real events on Outlook or Google Calendar, always with your confirmation — iCal and Apple calendars are read-only.

Real events, always confirmed — iCal and Apple can't be written to at all

On Outlook (Microsoft) or Google Calendar, emily creates, moves and cancels real events on your actual calendar, always confirming with you first; on iCal and Apple calendars she can only see what's there — she can't create, move or cancel anything on those, and she'll say so if you ask.

Ask her things like:

  • "Book a call with [Client] for Thursday at 10."
  • "Move my meeting with [Colleague] to 3pm."
  • "Cancel the 2pm with [Client]."

Moving an event changes it, it doesn't duplicate it

On Outlook or Google Calendar, when emily moves a meeting she updates the existing event to its new time rather than creating a second one alongside it — the same event, at the new time, nothing extra left behind at the old one; on iCal and Apple calendars this doesn't apply, since she can't move anything there in the first place.

Needs your calendar connected

Calendar access is per person: each person connects their own calendar, and what emily can see and change is scoped to that account. If yours isn't connected yet, she'll point you to Settings → Connected Accounts instead of guessing at your day — see connect calendar and mailbox.

Next: what she can prep beforehand
